In 2019, to stop the City of San Francisco from infringing on the constitutional rights of  unhoused individuals in San Francisco, PILP issued a letter demanding an end to the confiscation and destruction of unhoused people's personal belongings. After sending the demand letter, the City agreed to policy changes and training of its staff.
