Honoring Bill Hebert: 15 Years of Leadership and Dedication at PILP
After 15 years of dedicated service, Bill Hebert has stepped down as Chair of the Board of Directors at The Public Interest Law Project (PILP). His steady leadership, unwavering commitment, and deep wisdom have profoundly shaped our organization. Under his guidance, PILP has strengthened its impact and remained steadfast in the fight for racial and economic justice, particularly in the areas of housing, homelessness, and public benefits.
At our recent holiday luncheon and farewell celebration, we had the opportunity to reflect on Bill’s incredible contributions and express our heartfelt gratitude. While we will miss his steady hand, we are thankful for his lasting impact and the strong foundation he has built.
Thank you, Bill, for your service, dedication, and leadership. We look forward to staying in touch and continuing the work that you have helped shape so meaningfully.
Bill’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing PILP’s mission to promote housing justice, end homelessness, and protect critical public benefits. As the incoming Board Chair, I am honored to build on this foundation and support the next generation of public interest lawyers in their efforts to drive systemic change through education, impact litigation, and advocacy.
- Armen Nercessian, PILP Board Chair
Bill played a key role in developing and driving the successful implementation of our five-year strategic plan, which significantly strengthened PILP’s capacity to advance justice. Thanks to his leadership, we expanded our team with three new attorneys and welcomed our new executive director, Shashi Hanuman—positioning PILP for an even greater impact in the years ahead.
- Michael F. Rawson, PILP Co-Founder and Director of Litigation and Advocacy
