Parent Voices Oakland v. O'Connell

When Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed funding for CalWORKs Stage 3 Child Care benefits in October 2010, 56,000 children and families were faced with the loss of child care. PILP led the legal challenge to the termination of this vital program which resulted in the extension of relief until Jan. 1, 2011 and, for over half of the families, enrollment in alternate childcare programs.
